ST. JOE VALLEY USBC
OPEN TOURNAMENT

1. All members must show proof of membership prior to competition.
    

2. All entrants MUST be a current 2024-2025 member of the St. Joseph Valley USBC or SJVUSBC Hall of Fame Member with a current USBC sanction card. This tournament is open to both men and women.
    

3. This tournament is certified by the United States Bowling Congress and all rules are in effect.
    

4. Entry fee is $36.00 per person per event. Optional All Events fee is $12.00 per person. If All Events is not marked at signup, the bowler will not be eligible for All Events. Once entry is processed, NO refund will be issued.
    

5. All prize monies will be returned based on entries in each division. Breakdown of fees are as follows: Expenses- $13, Prize Fund $23. Optional All Events monies ($12 per bowler who sign up for All Events) will be applied to and paid out ONLY in the All Events Division.
    

6. All fees MUST accompany entry form.
    

7. If you bowl in Singles, you must bowl in Doubles.
    

8. With the exception of Singles Event, entrants may bowl more than once in each event under the following conditions:

   • No more than 3 of the same bowlers on a 5-person team.

   • A bowler must change partners to bowl Doubles Event again.

   • A bowler first set in each event will make up his/hers All Events.

   • All multiple entries must be submitted by the deadline.
      

9. Three divisions: Division A, Division B and Division C
    

10. All bowlers must bowl when scheduled. Failure to do so will result in loss of entry.
     

11. All changes and substitutions must be made 30 minutes prior to the scheduled squad time.
     

12. Entrants will use their highest SJVUSBC certified average as of the end of the 2023-2024 season based on 21 games or more. Verification of average MUST accompany ALL entries!!

    • If no average from last year, entrant will use their current year’s average as of January 1, 2025 with a minimum of 21 games.

    • An entrant without a 21 game average as of January 1, 2025 shall use their highest current league average for 12 games or more as of the date of participation.

    • If no average from last year or this year the bowler will bowl using an average of 220.

    • Anyone who has an average as of January 1, 2025 that is 10 pins higher than 23-24 season average, must use their current average and have verifiable proof. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

    • Anyone purchasing a local membership must use and have verifiable proof of current average (21 games or more as of January 1, 2025) prior to bowling or they will bowl using a 220 average.
       

13. Handicap will be 90% based on 220.
     

14. Rule 319c average rerate does apply.
     

15. All PBA, PWBA and others shall be limited to two (2) per team and one (1) per doubles.
     

16. Extra shifts will be added if entries warrants.
     

17. Tournament Manager has final say on all disputes and interpretations of these & USBC tournament rules that govern this tournament.
     

18. All Prize monies will be distributed by mail within 30 days of the closing of the tournament.
     

** Violation of any of the above rules and/or any USBC rules will result in forfeiture of prize money and awards. Any protest must be made in writing and given to a tournament official within 24 hours of completion of their squad.
